International Breweries Plc Reports Profit for Q2 2025, Reversing Previous Losses

International Breweries Plc, a subsidiary of AB InBev, that produces and markets beer and other beverages, including brands like Trophy, Hero, and Budweiser;  reported a significant turnaround, moving from a loss to a profit for the three and six months ended June 30, 2025.

Report from financial statement released on Monday shows for the three-month period ending June 30, 2025, the company recorded a profit of N11.91 billion, a substantial improvement from the N47.32 billion loss reported during the same period in 2024.

This positive trend is also reflected in the six-month results, with a profit of N41.29 billion for 2025 compared to a loss of N106.78 billion in the first half of 2024.

The company’s revenue saw a notable increase, rising from N119.98 billion in the second quarter of 2024 to N167.36 billion in the same period in 2025. For the six-month period, revenue grew to N340.99 billion in 2025 from N223.20 billion in 2024. Cost of sales also increased, reaching N105.41 billion for the three months and N219.41 billion for the six months ended June 30, 2025.

Gross profit for the second quarter of 2025 was N61.95 billion, more than double the N33.76 billion reported in the same quarter of the previous year. The six-month gross profit also saw significant growth, from N62.61 billion in 2024 to N121.58 billion in 2025.

Administrative, marketing, and distribution expenses for the three-month period were N31.78 billion, increasing from N27.24 billion in the prior year. The company also reported other expenses of N5.63 billion for the quarter, a sharp decrease from N46.43 billion in the second quarter of 2024.
