Global crude benchmarks climbed sharply on Monday as supply fears resurfaced following stalled diplomatic efforts.
Brent crude futures rose $1.82 to reach $106.14 a barrel.
US West Texas Intermediate similarly advanced, settling at $93.55 a barrel.
The renewed upward pressure follows the rejection of an Iranian settlement framework aimed at reopening the strategic Strait of Hormuz.
Traders had briefly driven prices lower late last week on optimism surrounding a potential seven-day interim shipping corridor.
Persistent geopolitical flashpoints across the Middle East continue to keep commodity risk premiums elevated.
