West Africa’s largest carrier, Air Peace, and Abu Dhabi-based Etihad Airways have signed a strategic interline agreement opening 20 regional destinations across Nigeria, West, and Central Africa to single-ticket international travel.
Under the arrangement, Etihad passengers can connect seamlessly beyond Lagos and Accra onto Air Peace’s domestic and regional network with through-checked baggage. Air Peace customers will gain direct access to Etihad’s Abu Dhabi hub.
The network integration covers eight key Nigerian cities—including Abuja, Port Harcourt, and Kano—alongside 12 regional commercial hubs such as Abidjan, Dakar, Douala, Freetown, and Libreville.
The deal directly supports Etihad’s African expansion roadmap announced in April 2026, anchored by planned daily non-stop services connecting Abu Dhabi and Lagos.
Bilateral passenger traffic and commercial flows between both nations have accelerated following the implementation of the UAE–Nigeria Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) signed in January 2026.
For Air Peace, the collaboration marks its third major global airline partnership in 2026, coming on the heels of an expanded interline agreement with Emirates and a Special Prorate Agreement signed with Turkish Airlines in April.
These cumulative alliances strengthen Air Peace’s operational strategy to position Lagos as West Africa’s primary transit hub while expanding international connectivity for regional passengers.
